Lime Bamboo

Bambusa spp.

Matt's 9b field note

“Green culms with a yellow stripe — the mirror image of Lemon.”

Background

The mirror-image form of Asian Lemon Bamboo, sold in the trade as Bambusa eutuldoides 'Vittata Inversa' (Asian Lime Bamboo). Matt's latin is recorded as Bambusa spp., so this identity is a trade-listing inference, not verified for his plant. Thin published background beyond nursery listings.

Distinguishing traits

Loose-clumping bamboo whose mature canes are green with a yellow stripe (the reverse of Lemon's yellow-with-green-stripe). New canes are lime green with pinkish-tinted, striped culm sheaths. Similar size and habit to Asian Lemon; gives a more airy, open feel.

Regular water to establish; moderate once established.
